Who we are
Clare Brass comes from a design background. Alongside her product design consultancy in Milan she also established several design-led initiatives and organisations dealing with social or environmental issues and behaviour change. Leader of Sustainability at Design Council until 2007, Clare is currently part-time senior tutor at Design London, with students from IDE (Royal College of Art) and Imperial College Business and Engineering, addressing issues of sustainability and social enterprise.

Flora Bowden graduated in Fine Art. She worked in the field of sustainable architecture in London before taking up the position of Environmental Design Coordinator at the Parliamentary Design Group (Policy Connect). She collaborated with Clare Brass on a Design Council research paper about the future role of design in the sustainable development agenda.Their findings led to the establishment of SEED Foundation

Karl Harder is SEED Foundation’s Business Development Manager. He started his career as a renewable energy researcher for Members of Parliament and subsequently went on to launch and successfully grow Green Your Office, a leading UK social enterprise. Karl is passionate about creating innovative business solutions to today’s social and environmental problems. Currently he is studying for his MBA at Imperial Business School, London.

Manuel Mazzotti is SEED Foundation’s Project Manager and holds a MEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bologna. His specialist subject areas are transportation design and renewable energy. His interest is in the human-centred ability of design to promote a more sustainable pattern of behaviour.

Gina Lovett is communications manager for SEED. She has a background in journalism, and worked for Design Week for over three years, specialising in design, sustainability and social innovation. She has written for Design Week, Marketing Week, Sideways News, Future Laboratory and Phaidon. She recently worked with sustainable design start-up Veer Magazine! on its launch, and is a part-time researcher at the civic society think tank Respublica.
